      • Group count - Allows a single output to act like a "dumb" string so that only three DMX channels will control the entire string color as one
      • Direction - Allows starting DMX addressing at start or end of string
      • RGB color order - Allows mapping of pixels that are not RGB color order so that sequencing software can output data as RGB order but to pixels in other orders (RGB, GBR, etc)
      • Null / Ghost pixels - Allows the use of pixels for data repeating functions only. If one null pixel is used, the first "addressed" pixel will be the 2nd in the line.
      • Zig Zag - Allows addressing changes when building matrix or other elements that have a "back and forth" physical pixel order
      • Brightness - Allows 100% (default) to 10% range of brightness adjustment. This is useful for reducing output on strings that may be too bright but without adjusting sequencing.
      • Gama Profiles - Allows fine grained control over output so that different pixel types can be match or so that colors can be adjusted without adjusting sequencing
      • Segmented Strings - Each output can be divided in 9 sections of "virtual / sub strings"

    • Power Input
      • Input power: 4.6 volts to 13.5 volts (controller driven from power on bank 1 - outputs 1-8). No switching of jumpers for input power is necessary.
      • Uses high current spade style power connectors. Spade connectors are much less likely to pull from board, less resistant to arcing and have lower resistance and heat build-up than typical euro style connectors. Connector located at center of board to reduce possibility of bending or damage to PCB.
      • Power inputs for both banks are located together and on the same side as a typical installation using 350w power supply resulting in cleaner installs using less wire and thus, less resistance and power loss
      • 14 AWG wire recommended, up to 10 AWG wire can be used for input power without spade terminal
      • Reverse polarity power input protection - prevents damage to the controller even when power wires are incorrectly connected to power inputs
    • Power Limits

        • Red indicator LED for each output, lights only when fuse is blown allowing easy identification of blow fuses or unconnected power

        • Fuses and blow fuse indicator LEDs are located well above output connectors making replacement of fuses and location of blow fuses via the LED easier than controllers that have wires covering fuses and indicator lights

          • Each bank has current monitoring sensors accurate to .25 amps
          • Notification of over-current via text message or email
          • To prevent possible controller damage due to excessive quantities of connected lights, when current draw is above 32 amps per bank, the controller will reduce output in steps of 10% until the over-current situation is resolved.
      • Power board is four layers with two ounces of copper for low resistance transfer of even the highest current loads and low resistance

4 of 5 Great budget buy - know what you are getting March 31, 2020

Overall, an excellent buy. If  familiar with the Hinks line, this will be easy to configure. They have reformatted it to act like a HinksPix PRO, which has onboard SD card standalone mode. First thing, I recommend plugging into the back of your router to acquire firmware updates and convert the board away from easylights. With easylights defunct, this will turn it into a standalone board capable of working off an SD card or receiving E131 data.

I run this board in E131 mode from another Hinkspix PRO. The downside - it is not nearly as good as the newer, FLEX system. Expandability options are none. If you were to use this as a primary display you are forced to buy in to the FM tuner add on. The newer FLEX system, has an audio jack embedded in the board, which is useful if you already have an FM tuner.

Overall, this is  an amazing price for an add-on if you don't need the full power that a newer model gives you.

This is a great pixel controller ONLY. Nothing else works correctly on this controller. Not the integrated PI, or the transmitter or the integrated networking switch. Also not near as user friendly as the alpha pix. If I could sell this one back I would. Stick with the Alpha pix it's worth the extra $50 I PROMISE!!
