Quite handy December 19, 2021 Reviewer: Chuck from MA, United States   Using 9 of these.  Very convenient to add some ports in far corners. A few tips, however, as there are design constraints. xlights really can't use the smart LRR technology to its full potential.  Using the 16-port LRRs, don't daisy chain them.  xlights channel assignment is buggy unless you check "universe per string".  A 16-port LRR has 4 of its ports chained on the same stream from the master controller, so if you use all 4 of them, that's 4 universes, and that's the most the master supports.  While the Smart LRR can easily drive 200 pixels per port, there is a max of 680 pixels across each set of 4 ports because they're on the same stream from the master.  Finally, for the larger props you will use the "cascade on port" feature of xlights, so you have to balance the "cascade on port" with the max pixels per stream. Took me a couple of tries to get the first one set up, but now that I'm used to it, no big deal. Was this review helpful to you?

Love the SMART LR Receiver December 6, 2021 Reviewer: Steven Kovarik from Cambridge, IA United States   This is my first full year of using the HolidayCoro equipment. I have a HinksPix Pro controller with a LR transmitter and 2 SPI boards. Using one connection from the transmitter to the LR receiver for a second MegaTree. Setup is relatively easy and works like a charm even at 200 ft of cabling to get to the second tree. Would recommend to anyone and will likely get some Smart 4 LR  early next year. Great addition to keep it simple October 15, 2021 Reviewer: Brian Touhey from Hudson, NH United States   I went with the Hinkspic platform from my transition from LOR.  I like having the method to set up the props be the same as once you understand it, it make sense and I do not have to remember how each controller manufacture works.  Having these expansion boards allows lights all over the place, lots of lights all over the place!!! Haven’t set this up yet as Ian still prepping July 27, 2021 Reviewer: Don Essick from Waxhaw, NC United States   I e looked at all the videos and setup seems clear, especially with the new capabilities in xLights. As soon as I get the pixels mounted and ready to go, I’ll start setting up and testing.  So far I’ve set up arches, mini trees and megatree. House outline is in progress and then megatree star and singing bulbs. Glad I’ve got good help to get this all done by my October target date. I’ll update this as things progress.
