Product Features
  • Smart Long Range Differential Receiver Board
    • Allows up to 15 Smart Long Range Receivers per output (Long Range Expansion Board)
    • Outputs can be split (Y) or daisy chained (A > B > C > D > ...) in any combination up to 15 total boards on one single long range output
    • Built-in test mode button (2811 type protocol based pixels) for localized testing of lights
      • Red > Green > Blue
      • White (all pixels on)
      • Black (all pixels off)
    • Status indicator lights for each output indicating programming status
    • Maximum pixel counts using SMART receivers
      • Up to 680 pixels per output with HPP V2 / Up to 1024 pixels per output with HPP V3 CPU
      • Up to 80 outputs per HPP V3 CPU (over five Long Range Expansion boards)
      • Up to a total maximum pixel count, per CPU of 81,920 pixels.
      • Pixels can be divided up and allocated as needed
    • Over the wire updating of firmware allows easy corrections of bugs or improved features to be automatically downloaded to receiver
    • Available in DIY bare board (this page) or fully Ready2Run assembled receivers with a variety of voltage options
    • No need for termination jumpers as each receiver to receiver run is fully amplified and repeated. Allows thousands of feet of CAT5 cable for even the largest displays.
    • The smart receiver will not work without a Flex Long Range Differential Expansion Board (Bare boards and Ready2Run Controller
    • Blown fuse indicators (Red LED light will go out when fuse is blown)
    • 4mm holes for mounting to our long range mounting board kit
    • NOTE: Requires power supply at location of receiver, cannot be powered from expansion board
    • Power indicator light - Red
      • Shows if power from the power supply is being received
    • Pixels
      • Pixel protocols supported: 2811 / 2812 / 2813 / 2815 / 1904 / 2814 / 28** (and any other "2811" pixel protocol)
    • Data Input
      • One CAT5 Jack
      • Red in color to indicate long range functionality
      • Marked on PCB as "LINE IN"
      • Four LEDs marked 1 2 3 4 for each pair of the 8 wires in the CAT5 line show the status of incoming data to assist in troubleshooting problems with mis-configuration or wiring issues
      • Up to 350 feet of CAT5 cable can be used between the Long Range Expansion output and the Long Range Smart Receiver
      • Requires Long Range Differential Expansion Board for operation, will not work with E1.31 or E1.11 or "DMX 1990" signals
    • Data Output
      • Two CAT5 Jacks
      • Red in color to indicate long range functionality
      • Marked on PCB as "Line Out"
      • Each output is fully repeated and amplified as a new connection, allowing up to 15 daisy chained smart receivers on a single Long Range Expansion output
      • NO terminators are required as each run from the the Long Range Expansion or from Smart Receiver to Smart Receiver is fully isolated
      • Four LEDs located next to SPI output plugs indicate data output on that specific output to help with troubleshooting bad pixel strings
      • Up to 350 feet of CAT5 cable can be used between any receivers, up to the maximum of 15 receivers
    • Power Output
      • 5 Amps Maximum per output
        • Poly fuses - auto resets and does not require replacement if blown
      • Wattage per output
        • 5 Volts: 25 Watts
        • 12 Volts: 60 Watts
      • Up to 10 AWG wire (we recommend a minimum of 18 AWG for power inputs - see our website

5 of 5 Expansion board January 16, 2025
Reviewer: Gary Morrison from Pekin, IL United States
These boards will be added to my 2025 Halloween and Christmas show and will be the perfect fit for all the new props that I intend to use. The set up is easier than trying to figure out channels in other programs.
