Product Features
General Information
- Note that this is a pre-production release controller and is being offered at a lower than normal price.
- 2 layer, 2oz Copper Power board with current carrying
capacity up to 64 Amps
- 4 layer, 1oz Copper CPU board
- The HinksPix16 is designed for high density pixel
based projects such as pixel matrix panels, pixel MegaTrees and house
outlines.
- Features five push buttons for control of the OLED
functions.
- Four additional LED status lights for monitoring
controller power up state and E1.31 data input
- Input voltage monitor (viewable from OLED and webpage)
- Temperature monitor (viewable from OLED and webpage)
- Per output RGB color mapping and String Selection
- Output resistor bank (for adjustments for select
pixels and to reduce short circuit possibility)
- Two
Vertical CAT5 Ethernet Input Jacks
for mounting in tight enclosures. This allows for "LOR" style daisy chaining of controllers without the need for an independent network switch.

Wireless – for Setup and Control
- On-Board, Stand-alone Sequence Player (not currently enabled is this firmware release, additional cost may apply for functionality)
- On-board
SD Card for storage of sequence and audio files
- On-Board
Audio Processor for stand-alone audio output capability

TCP/IP over Ethernet) - Coming Soon
- Hardware Data Outputs
- 16 SPI (pixel) Outputs
- Each of the 16 SPI output can
drive a unique string type
- Each output can have 1,024 pixels segmented into 9 different configurations (RGB, NULL Pixel,
Zig-Zag, etc)
- Overall - Maximum of 10,880 Pixels or 64 Universes /
32,768 DMX Channels
- Per Output - Up to 680 pixels / 4 DMX universes
(exclusive of power, see chart below)
- Each output features euro
style plugs for easy assembly and removal
- Each output is clearly marked
on both sides of the connector with the output number so it is always
easy to find the output.
- Each output is marked with +
/ - / Data / Clock order to make assembly easier and error free
- RS485 Output
- Overall - Maximum of 512 DMX
Channels
- RS485 port does not "use
up" SPI outputs / not shared with SPI outputs
DMX output utilize an easy push and connect style connector
- Power Input
- 64 Amps Normal /
(32 Amps per bank / two individual bank inputs)
- Voltage Range: 5 to 13v DC – Each of the two Banks can
be different
- Two Banks of 8 ports.
Each Bank (A or B) can have a different voltage applied
- Up to 10 AWG wire (we recommend a minimum of 14 AWG
for power inputs)
- Controller is powered by power input on bank A - no
separate power connection is required
- No jumpers are required for voltage input selection
- Polarity reversal input protection for CPUs and
circuitry – NOT Pixel Power
- Power Output
- 5 Amps Maximum (fused blade) per output
- Wattage per output
- 5 Volts: 25 Watts
- 12 Volts: 60 Watts
- See the chart below for recommended maximum pixel
counts per output and per controller
- Software Data Output
- 16 different protocols supported simultaneously – Each
port will support a different protocol
- Supported pixel protocols:
