This "dongle" is perfect if you want to use a RS485 based DMX device with any popular sequencing applications such as LOR S3 Advanced, Vixen, LightShow Pro, Light Factory, xLights and more. NOTE: This product will NOT "program" items #26 & #30, it is intended only for DMX output. This product not required for operation of the AlphaPix or other E1.31 based pixel controllers.

    • RJ45 output allows direct to CAT5 cabling (pin out printed on top of unit)
    • XLR3 pin output commonly used on DJ hardware (pin out printed on top of unit)
    • “Active”, “Smart”, “Pro” output reduces the load on your PC for DMX output

Simple and Effective December 9, 2018

I needed this to run a separate universe for my RGB floods and I didn't have an open DMX output on another controller.    I also needed it to work with my Falcon Pi Player (FPP).

After some pre-sales emails with David, I purchased and it worked flawlessly from setting it up on xLights on my Mac to running it with the FPP.

One technical note: if you're using an xLights/FPP combo, don't work in xLights without this being plugged into the computer, because xLights will save the fseq file without the reference to the ActiDongle.  If that happens, the FPP won't do anything with it. Took me two days to figure that little gem out.

This dongle works very good and was very easy to set-up.
