SD Card Not Reading or Working with HinksPix PRO CPU
Last Updated: 11/04/2021
PROBLEM: When attempting to save your configuration information when using the design tool or when attempting to play a sequence created with the HSA application, your SD cannot be read or written to.

ISSUE: There are specific requirements for SD cards used with the HinksPix PRO CPU. Your card MUST meet all these requirements:

  • Must be less than 32gb in size. Any size over 32gb is not readable or will produce errors
  • Must be a Class 10 or higher card. Look for a circle around the number.
  • Must be A1 class. This is because of the read/write cycles used by the controller, a standard "storage" card will not work or will produce errors.
  • Must be MicroSD size
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • We have encountered an alarming number of "fake" SD cards labeled most often as brand name products like SanDisk. If purchasing from Amazon, only purchase from the seller Amazon, not from third parties.
  • You can go to the Debug tab in the controller to check for possible errors:
  • Here is a sample card and what you should look for:
