I would check every few weeks. I jumped at the order as soon as this was in stock this year.
It thoroughly exceed my expectations. - while I will stream data to the CPU over network, the ability to use as master device, to work with other cpus... storage, stand alone mode....fm transmitter.. audio output!!
COME ON!!! talk about a bargain!

Don't be drawn in by other controllers that can handle 1000+ pixels on each port if you're just starting out. 300 or so per port is more than enough so that you don't over-run your power supplies and have to map out long model chains and power injection. Stick to 340 or less and enjoy your show. When you're ready to grow, simply add more receivers.

Easy to set up

Love the fully built and ready to go option. I got one that only had four long range ports for my first year doing this. Initially had a problem with the software side as it was only sending outputs on one channel on one port, but there was a setting buried deep in the web browser-based configuration. I had to change the default refresh from 750 kHz to 700 kHz and everything instantly worked like a charm. Would not have thought of that being an issue and it wasn't easy to troubleshoot, but once that demon was exorcised it has been flawless.

HinksPix CPU with smart receivers

The HinksPix controller turned out to be a great product. Works mostly like the AlphaPix, another great product. Bought this one so I could extend the receivers through daisy chaining which can really help with larger area displays and it cuts down on cat 6 cable.
For the farther away areas I’ve added the HinksPix CPU, 2 long range boards, 2 new remote controllers, each with two 4 port smart receivers.
Highly recommend you watch the Joe Hinkle video for two 4 port receivers daisy chained. This does not work like I would have thought. Basically 2 physical ports are using the same Dara stream. I won’t even try to explain it but the video helped me get my receivers up and running.

Just don't use it with FPP

So it was really easy to setup the AlphaPix system but then it was freezing on me every night. Locked up and stopped responding to pings, and would require power cycle to recover. Found out from support they have other customers in the same boat with FPP as the head. If they fix this problem its 5 stars, but with the problem its more or less a thorn in my side. ---- HOLIDAYCORO RESPONSE ---- The third party FPP is a very very complex product to properly configure. We do have hundreds of customers using the AlphaPix CPU with FPP, we just are unable to assist customers in configure the FPP.
