First, I want to say, I think this product has excellent potential. The hardware is well designed and I believe that eventually it will be a worthy successor to the AlphaPix16. However, the software is just too buggy in it's current state. I bought an initial board that didn't work at all. I got great support from Joe Hinks himself. It turns out that the software was bad. To their credit, Holiday Coro sent me an immediate replacement. Unfortunately, the replacement, while better, has a whole host of additional problems that make it unusable. I am happy to help a fellow engineer beta-test a new and exciting product, but I'm less enthusiastic about paying $200 for the privilege. If you need to run a show with any reliability, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. I hope that by next year, all the bugs will be resolved, and I can right a glowing review. For now, only purchase if you are a curious tinkerer who does not have a show to run.
