How to Setup and Use the FM Transmitter with Hinkspix CPUs
Product Features
  • The only waterproof, FCC legal transmitter on the market
  • Designed specificly for holiday lighting displays and outdoor use
  • For use with our HinksPix PRO CPU, a direct connection to your PC's audio output jack or any controller that has a 1/8" Stereo output jack at line level
    • This product will not work with LOR "ShowTime Director" products
  • Distance varies by obstructions and other external factors. Typical distance is 50 to 200ft.
  • Fully waterproof when power and audio cable installed and secured as designed
  • Retains the last frequency entered when powered up
  • Recommendations
    • Use the website https://radio-locator.com/ to find "empty" frequencies in your area as a starting point
    • ALWAYS verify with a radio, prior to building a radio sign that the frequency is really empty
    • Use the lowest frequency possible, starting at 88.1 as these will transmit the furthest distance given FCC limited output power
    • Mount the unit high as reasonably possible above the ground
    • Avoid putting the transmitter inside an enclosure. This unit is fully waterproof and can be mounted outside the enclosure.
  • Troubleshooting
    • Ensure that the audio output from the controller / PC is not clipping, over outputting or otherwise "blowing out" the volume level. Test your output using headphones.
    • Ensure that the audio file used is clean and high quality, ideally a WAV file (required by Hinkspix)
    • Ensure that the audio output cable going to the transmitter is not directly parallel to a high voltage (120v+) cable
    • Do not modify the FM transmitter as this is a violation of FCC certification for this device. The antenna used on this transmitter is tuned for this specific device.

Excellent Product & Outstanding Service

This FM transmitter works exactly as expected and is metal, not plastic junk. The unit appears fully waterproof, and all cord connections are secured with proper waterproof glands, which is a huge plus for being able to mount on a controller box close to the street. It includes both an AC adapter and a striped 12V power wire, allowing easy direct connection to a controller power supply-Great option!

As for customer service, absolutely fantastic.  I live about an hour from their location, so I am able to pick up my orders in person. I placed this order late at night and was still able to pick up the transmitter the very next morning, during December, right in the middle of the holiday rush. Despite how busy the season is, the staff (Betsy and David) were friendly, helpful, and incredibly accommodating.

Great products, great service. Highly recommended!

I had to replace my Whole House FM transmitter 3.0 this year. I trust the products that HolidayCoro sells. This radio did not disappoint.

I have it installed inside my house on my 2nd floor. Crystal clear reception after a little fine tuning on the volume settings.

Make sure you push the audio jack all the way. :)

Range is short and gets me to the end of my block. My Amazon cheap one was just as good.

We are sorry for the unexpected distance of the FM transmitter.  We find this frustrating also because our unit is FCC certified to be legal for use in the USA and many of the Amazon transmitters, sold directly by Chinese sellers, are not FCC compliant and thus transmit at levels above legal limits.  Amazon has tried over time to remove these illegal devices but it has been a bit of a whack-a-mole situation.  As a US based company, we strive to follow all laws and not put our customers at risk for output over the legal limits.  In most common situations in a residential house, the distances are sufficient for clear coverage by cars located in a street.

This little transmitter is amazing. Sound quality is awesome, no interference that we can hear and the range out of the box is stellar.

Over the years we've had significant troubles with "that Amazon FM transmitter" most people like to recommend. Noisy interference, display went out, poor quality audio. If you're having those troubles, just bail and buy this transmitter, you won't regret it!
