[Product Description Page] [FAQ & Documentation Page]
This clip was designed to allow you to mount 1/2" PVC pipe to a structure (roofs, fascias, window surrounds, stucco). Then, RGB strip, modules or bulbs are mounted to the 1/2" PVC pipe and the entire assembly just "pops" into the clips mounted to the substrate. We recommend in normal mounting situations (regular wind loads, not mounted upside down) one mount every 3 feet with one mount 1 to 2 inches from the start and ends of the PVC pipe.
Why Not To Use PVC Clips
Pixel Strip Mounted With Clips
Product Features
  • Designed for 3+ years of outdoor use. Standard PVC clips (which we no longer sell) only typically last a single season as they are not UV resistant and will break when installing pipes.
  • Allows you to build your entire lighting structure safely at the ground
  • Reduces the amount of time required on the roof or ladder to perfectly mount your lights
  • Lights can be perfectly spaced and angled, on the ground, without depending on shingle or gutter clips that might not even work with pixel lighting
  • Securely holds PVC pipe to prevent rotation of pipe, ensuring that lights face the exact direction you want them pointing - towards your audience
  • Uses cheap and light PVC pipe
  • Clips are clear but can be painted with Krylon Fusion for Plastics paint prior to installation to match roof shingles, fascia or other mounting substrates for year-round mounting
  • While this product is not intended for use with 1/2" EMT conduit (we recommend using schedule 80 PVC instead where strength is an issue), which is .706" OD compared to 1/2" PVC which is .840" OD - the clip can be used with 1/2" EMT. Here are the holding strengths (at 78 degrees f with sufficient screw):
    • 1/2" PVC Pipe - 18 pounds per clip
    • 1/2" EMT Conduit - 9.5 pounds per clip
  • The optional 1-1/2" screw may not be suitable for all mounting locations such as roofs. Ensure that the selected screw is long enough to fully embed into the mounting material to ensure a secure attachment.
  • Do not depend upon or hold onto PVC mounted pipe to support yourself.
Additional details:
  • Overall height from bottom of base to top of PVC pipe: 1.14"
  • Base width: .87"
  • Maximum screw head width: .35"
  • Width of gap at top when 1/2" PVC mounted: .71"
  • Mounting Surface to Base of Pipe Gap: .30"
  • Color: Clear (87% light transmission)
  • Material: Polycarbonate (Lexan) with UV inhibitors
Additional items required/optional:
  • 1/2" (nominal) / .840 OD Actual (thin wall recommended) PVC pipe
  • Minimum 4" zip ties, 6" recommended (Nylon UV resistant recommended)
  • Longer screws may be required depending on your specific substrate

Handy but still break a lot October 21, 2017
Reviewer: Mark Amber from Terrell, TX United States
These clips are a great idea but not as durable as the video states.  I started using these last year.  A few broke during installation and a bunch more broke when taking things down.   The rest remained on the house all year (as intended).  Now this year, bought some replacement clips and starting putting things back up and more of the existing clips are breaking.
I'm sorry for the issue experienced with these clips.  We have refund all three orders of these clips.  We recommend when removing PVC pipe, to pull the pipe directly perpendicular from the mounting service (the center of the clip).  We also do not recommend installing clips so that the clip is still movable after installation.

For any customer that experiences failures directly upon installation, this will typically indicate either the pipe size is incorrect (.840" OD max) or the clips have been compressed to the mounting surface with too much pressure, typically with an impact driver or drill driver.

Makes 1/2" PVC mounting a "Snap" August 29, 2017
Reviewer: Douglas Tice from Long Beach, CA United States
I found these are easy to mount using the hole made for a screw.  They are clear so they don't show when you take down your props.  "Happy Wife".    Previously I was using Tie wraps which didn't look so hot and also didn't hold very well either.   If these hold up to sun I will be very happy.

Ok but not as unbreakable as they make them out to July 25, 2017
Reviewer: Crystal from Lees Summit, MO United States
We had several break during the first use of several of these. Be careful to only loosely attach them to the house but some will still break when you try to remove the pipe from the mount. Ours free spin with one finger but they still sometimes break.
We are sorry for the problem experienced with these clips.  We have added a notice on our FAQ on the product page indicating to remove the pipe from the clips only at a 90 degree angle from the surface (straight out the center of the clip).

Seems to be of a good quality July 16, 2017

These seem like a nice quality clip and time will tell how they hold up to years in the sun. They make installation year after year simple.
