Good sample kit October 22, 2021 Reviewer: David from Copper Canyon, TX   I was able to get the kit working with some effort. The video instructions for getting the ActiDongle working with xLights is obsolete (the UI has changed quite a bit), so it took quite a bit of tinkering to get it actually working. The provided Cat5 cable is stranded copper, making it very difficult to strip the little wires to connect to the DMX inputs. I ended up using a solid copper patch cable I already had. Fantastic kit to learn the basics October 8, 2021 Reviewer: Geoffrey from North Carolina, United States   I hesitated diving into pixels for years because it seemed overwhelming.  There *is* a huge learning curve and I have zero experience soldering. This kit fixed all of that for me; with a capable yet simple DMX-based controller and several different styles of pixels to play around with.   I discovered that soldering is pretty simple and there are tons of videos here to help with setup.  Within two days I was soldering lights together, creating my own extension cords and running pixels. The best part is that the controller that comes with this starter kit not only gave me something to play around with, but it's usable in the yard!  Less than one week after receiving this kit, I've replaced all the incandescent lights in my blowmold pumpkins outside with pixels using a connection piggybacked onto a DMX output from another AlphaPix controller using a DMX connection I made myself.  I never thought it would be this easy. This  kit gave me the confidence I needed to jump right in. Was this review helpful to you?

Love the starter pack April 26, 2021 Reviewer: CB from MA, United States   This was super easy to set up (all you need is wire strippers and a screwdriver), the instructions and labels are very clear, and the price is hard to beat for a kit that will give you such a good sense of the capabilities and brightness of a variety of smart pixels. Great Start January 31, 2016 Reviewer: Jesse Nietzer from South Plainfield, NJ United States   As someone just starting to get into sequenced Christmas lights, this kit gave me an easy way of exploring several of the nodes/pixels on the market. I also was able to learn how to properly wire, weather seal and inject power. This is an excellent kit to get started in smart rgb lights and includes products that can be integrated or used as spares when developing a larger display. And Holidaycoro has excellent support, as I had a couple questions and they were quickly answered to help me get the most from this starter pack. Was this review helpful to you?

A great way to test out some pixels March 16, 2015 Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Austin, TX United States   I'm planning out my first RGB show for this year and I have a few elements that I needed to work out the best type of pixels to use. With the kit, I was able to look at a variety of lights and changes several of my plans as a result.  If you're looking to start with pixels and not sure what they'll look like, this start pack gives you some great options. Exactly what I expected August 9, 2013 Reviewer: Paul from USA   Had an issue with the software download link not available as I purchased it right after becoming available.  HolidayCoro fixed this and very quickly for me.  As I wanted to learn about rgb pixels this was a great staying kit.  The videos were extremely helpful.
