Q: I purchased the kit with 3 dumb DMX controllers, how do I wire these together with the CAT5 cable?A: This kit
uses dumb RGB and has three dumb controllers and thus it is possible to control each row (three) individually. To do this you only need to address each controller individually - such as DMX start address 1, then 4 and then 7. For wiring of the incoming RS485 wiring, all three controllers will come together in a "star" pattern. So, you will have this:
From CAT5 Cable with DMX incoming Signal (solid orange) -> All three green wires from controller inputs
From CAT5 Cable with DMX incoming Signal (orange with white strip) -> All three red wires from controller inputs
(The black wire from the DMX controller does not have to be connected and can be cut off)
To physically solder all these, just connect all three DMX Controller wires in the center of the star together, pull them through the hole in the center of the (back) star and then solder them to the CAT5 cable. We recommend using shrink wrap (3/8" or 1/2") to cover the resulting connection.
