The fact that this PSU doesn't have to go in the box means we have limitless options for configuring our controllers in the box.  For example, I can use a smaller box for just the controller (and maybe a Power Distro Board)  and I just have to deal with two wires coming in to provide power.  I can also use a box for 12v one year and switch it to 5v the next year because the PSU is not in the box.    Also, if I'm only using the PSU for Power Injection, then I don't need a box for it.  I bought several to replace existing regular PSU's.   I've been using these for several years and they are very reliable.

What can you say, it is a power supply. It works well. I wish the cooling fan was variable speed and would run as needed. I will be buying more of these in the future.
