Technical Support Policy for HolidayCoro DMX Controllers, Dongles, RGB Lights and Programmers
Last Updated: 02/08/2013
HolidayCoro pride ourselves on the high level of technical support we provide for our products.  While we do our best to provide as much support as possible, due to complexities that are outside of our control, especially when non-HolidayCoro hardware is mixed with our hardware, we have the following support policies:

  • Custom Designs
    • FULLY SUPPORTED:  Solutions involving products or elements on our website.
    •  LIMITED SUPPORT:  Information on what product we sell that maybe a best fit for your project or element
    • NOT SUPPORTED:  Design of complete systems and elements - for example, if a customer wishes to know what would be required to install pixels around an entire house, we would recommend you purchase our consulting services.  We regret that we can't provide this service for free but to ensure that we provide the most detailed and accurate solution, we will require a large amount of information from customers to ensure that you get the best possible solution that fits within your budget and requirements.
  • RGB Modules and RGB Pixels
    • FULLY SUPPORTED:  Troubleshooting or product selection of our RGB Lighting products when used with HolidayCoro controllers.  Customers that purchase consulting services for design of a customer specific solution.
    • LIMITED SUPPORT:  Setup and troubleshooting of RGB controllers driving HolidayCoro RGB modules and pixels.
    • NOT SUPPORTED:  We are unable to provide advice or support on the selection of RGB lights (basic or pixel) that we do not sell, when driven by HolidayCoro controllers.  See our RGB Documentation Section for general advice.
  • DMX Controllers
    • FULLY SUPPORTED:  Troubleshooting on the operation of our DMX controllers when used with HolidayCoro power supplies and HolidayCoro RGB lights.  Customers that purchase consulting services for design of a customer specific solution.
    • LIMITED SUPPORT:  When using HolidayCoro DMX controllers with non-HolidayCoro lights or power supplies.  We can only provide limit support with output of DMX from applications other than xLights (for testing purposes).
    • NOT SUPPORTED:  We are unable to provide advice or support on a solution that incorporates a non-HolidayCoro power supply and/or non-HolidayCoro RGB lighting. See our power / signal / eletrical Section for general advice.
  • DMX Programmer
    • FULLY SUPPORTED:  We support programming of the HolidayCoro DMX controller when used with the HolidayCoro DMX programmer cable, HolidayCoro power supply and HolidayCoro RGB lights.
    • LIMITED SUPPORT:  We provide limited support of programming DMX controllers when used with a non-HolidayCoro power supply.
    • NOT SUPPORTED:  We are unable to provide support on programming the HolidayCoro DMX controller using using any other customer provided cable/dongle.  We do not support programming via virtualized environments such as Parrallels (Mac), VMware or other simular application.  We do not support our programming from Microsoft Windows 8.  While our DMX controller does work with a number of sequencing/output applications, we do not support the programmer for use as a "production" output device.
  • DMX Dongles (ActiDongle) or RS-485 Adapters
    • SUPPORTED:  We support testing of our DMX controller using the HolidayCoro DMX programmer device and xLights (free).  We ask that you follow all instructions and documentation included with your programmer or dongle prior to requesting support.  We may refer you back to this documentation.

We support the setup and use of the HolidayCoro ActiDongle in LOR S3 Advanced and xLights only.
    • LIMITED SUPPORT:  While our DMX controllers are compliant to the DMX protocol E1.11, we are only able to provide limited troubleshooting of problems with output from non-HolidayCoro dongles such as DIYLA's Dongle, Enttec Open/Pro, d-Light, J1SYS or others.
    • NOT SUPPORTED:  We have extensively tested our controllers with these different "dongles" and found them to be completely compatible.  If you experience problems with output with a dongle and our controller, we recommend using another controller, such as the LOR controller in DMX mode, to alternatively test the output of the dongle.
  • HolidayCoro DIY Products
    • A number of HolidayCoro products are sold both as a DIY version and a RGB Package version.  We offer DIY versions of our coro and related products so that our experienced customers can customize them with specific pixels or a preferred version of RGB hardware.  Customers purchasing DIY version of a product should understand any requirements necessary to build the project to completion.  For customers looking for a "complete" solution, we recommend purchasing our RGB Package version.  We provide full support for customers purchasing RGB Packages.
We have posted extensive information on our Knowledge Base that should answer most questions.  If you are in need of a "non-standard" solution and would like specific advice on your issue, including non-HolidayCoro items, we offer paid Technical Support.
