  • NOTE: We are NOT selling Falcon Pi Player Software which is free for anyone to download here: https://github.com/FalconChristmas/fpp/ - this purchase is for the hardware and installation process to make it easier for customers who wish to use the FPP to get started quicker.

5 of 5 Much easier than DIY January 8, 2020
Reviewer: Stephen Urba from Denver, CO
While I know that you can build this DIY, having it come complete, out of the box and ready to run was much easier than finding all the parts, hardware, building it, installing and configuring the software and so on.  Glad someone offers this as a Ready2Run solution.

I paid a premium in order not to deal with imaging and build, unfortunately this came with v2.7, we are not on v3.3 so I had to reimage the sd card anyway. I would make sure you are getting a current build prior to purchase.
---- HOLIDAYCORO RESPONSE ----
When we select the version of FPP to install, we use the most recent stable release as FPP can change often and sometimes introduces other issues.  Additionally, some of these major updates render instructions, videos and manual outdated and they take awhile to update so we generally stay with the most stable and documented version.  If you find there is some specific feature in the update that you need, updates are simple and only require clicking a button for the updates to happen.  Go to the help section and if you'd like minor updates to be applied automatically, uncheck the "Disable auto update".    If you see a large green banner that says "FPP vX.XX is available for install - UPGRADE", you can perform this major upgrade by clicking the UPGRADE button.  No "reimaging" is required to complete this process, only a connection to the public internet.
