  • General Information
    • The AlphaPix 4 is designed for low to medium density pixel based projects such as arches, house outlines and dedicated elements
    • The built-in, back-lit LCD panel allows for easy configuration of most settings (pixel type, channels, IP address settings, etc) and to monitor the units settings. Additionally, it is possible to trigger the built-in test sequences right from the LCD interface. Features five push buttons for control of the LCD functions
    • Easy to use plug-able connectors
    • Three additional LED status lights for monitoring controller state (power, IP address, E131 data signal)
    • Automated fan control using a standard CPU cooler fan (not typically required)
    • Input voltage monitor (viewable from LCD and webpage)

    • Warranty excludes any end-user induced or environmental damage (moisture, shorts, incorrect setup and other)
  • Support
    • The majority of our setup and troubleshooting information and videos can be found on our AlphaPix setup page
    • All support, other than paid Priority support is provided via e-mail. Priority support allows for faster response times and phone based troubleshooting
    • HolidayCoro offers support in the following areas with the AlphaPix controller:
      • General wiring and troubleshooting
      • Testing of pixels (some non-HolidayCoro pixels may have limited support)
      • General setup of the networking needed to support the connection of the AlphaPix to a Windows PC
      • Basic configuration of sequencing applications
      • Basic configuration of output to the RS485 output ports
    • HolidayCoro does not support the following with respect to the AlphaPix controller:
      • Complex networking environments
      • Sending data over wireless networks
      • Configuration of some applications (due to the huge number of applications, we may refer you to your application vendor for instructions on setting up their application)
      • Configuration or troubleshooting of individual sequences

I am new to working with Pixels and was a little scared to invest a ton of money into it. After looking around, the AlphaPix 4 was the best bargain for the number of pixels it can control by far. I am only using one of the channels so far to control a 600 pixel grid. It has worked flawlessly and was easy to get up and going. Having the IP address show up on the on board display was very convenient. I didn't really play with the on board test functions but they are nice to have. I am using Vixen Lights to run the AlphaPix and it just worked with no issues. I had to learn how to map it but I was quickly up and running. I am using WS2811 12v pixel nodes to make the grid and injecting power every 100 nodes. Totally satisfied with my purchase and will buy the AlphaPix 16 when I run out of channels.

The AlphaPix 4 is a great controller for the novice.  Easy to connect and set-up.  This controller allowed me to control my arches with the SPI ports and my HC candy canes with the RS485 port.  All that without trying to find a spare USB port on my show laptop.  Dave's videos provide all the info a newbi needs to put on a top notch show.  Buy with confidence.
